Laurel Lakes Committees' Duties and Responsibilities

Architectural Review Committee: Board Liaison: James Syltie - jksyltie@comcast.net
This committee reviews homeowner submitted proposals for exterior changes to their property for compliance with published architectural guidelines. They will approve or deny their request and make suggestions that would get their request into compliance. The committee also will pro-actively ensure that residents do seek board approval before making changes.
Finance Committee: Board Liaison: P.V. Archer - pvarcher19@gmail.com
This committee reviews the annual budget provided by the Association Management Board, identifies and monitors all on-going monthly and annual expenses; monitors on-going expenses as compared to the operating and reserve budgets; helps plan the next years budget; helps determine the banks to use for the associations accounts and helps manage any funds the board collects during the year.
Covenants Committee: Board Liaison: Jerry Hoey - ohoey@aol.com
This committee pro-actively searches out violations to the covenants, bylaws and rules of the Association and reports the identified violations to the board for enforcement. The committee collects facts (picture, written descriptions, etc.) of the alleged violations and presents them to the board and committee Manager. The committee also does follow up with the resident for compliance after the notice has been sent.
Communication Committee: Board Liaison: Jerry Hoey - ohoey@aol.com
This committee communicates with our Website manager and presents current information to be posted on the website. This committee identifies ways to notify residents of scheduled maintenance situations and problems. This committee also suggests ways to have better communication between the board and the residents.
Landscape / Irrigation Committee: Board Liaison: Earl Klink - edklinkky@verizon.net
This committee helps the board with the development and managmont of the landscaping of the common grounds and irrigation system for the community. This committee helps manage the use3 of reclaimed water in Laurel Lakes which is used by the residents and the common grounds. This committee helps manage all leaks and interruptions associated with the reclaimed water system in the community. This committee works with the the landscape manager to help guide the fertilizer, pruning, plantings, etc. around the community common grounds.
Social Committee: Board Liaison: Stan Fox - promoworld2010@comcast.net
This committee plans and conducts various social events for the community including youth events, seasonal activities and mixer events. This committee handles the Welcome basket program that welcomes new residents into the community. This committee works with the Clubhouse Interior Committee on identifying ways to improve the clubhouse. This committee helps develop new ways to form clubs around special interests.
Maintenance Committee: Board Liaison: Stan Fox - promoworld2010@comcast.net
This committee helps identify community assets that require maintenance; develops a system where regular maintenance of assets is performed as scheduled; clarifies which items are maintained by the homeowner, association or county; helps stays on top of the asset warranties; helps develop a list of contractors to call for repairs; and recommends any additional contractors that may be needed. (Properties this committee covers are the Clubhouse, Pool, Guard House, Tennis Courts, etc.)

This committee helps identify what activities, if any, a management firm must handle. This committee helps identify existing contracts including type, length and termination options. This committee helps determine contractors that may need to be replaced and helps in the review of replacement contractors. It helps in how to handle complaints regarding contractors. This committee helps in drafting the language for changes in Association rules, by-laws and covenants and serves as a policy adviser to the chairman.

This committee helps the Clubhouse Manager with the scheduling, management and monitoring of the rental and community use of the clubhouse. This committee helps the manager with follow up inspections after clubhouse rentals and community uses to make sure the building is left as it was before the event. This committee helps in the determining of the amount of the security deposit is returned after an event.
