LAKE #2 REPAIR UPDATE PHOTOS
Below, you will see photos demonstrating the progress of the installation of the geotube system being used on the Southern End of Lake #2.
5 Year Lake Project Plan
Geo-tube Technology
Each property will be installed with a 7-foot wide geo-tube product made of an engineered interwoven fiber material. Crosscreek Environmental is one of the most experienced geotube solution providers on Florida's west coast offering our B.E.S.T.™ (Bank Erosion Stabilization Tube). Geotubes provide a cost effective, superior, UV tolerant solution to shoreline restoration, protection, and erosion control.
Composed of durable textiles, the geo–tubes are filled with dredged sediments and sand collected onsite. Our hydraulic mini dredges take the sediments eroded from the shoreline and pump them into the geotubes, which then form a contoured natural barrier along the original shoreline. Native grasses and plants can be reestablished over the geotubes, forming a beautiful and defined shoreline once again. The geo–tube system also serves a natural filter, absorbing runoff fertilizers and pesticides and helping to control algae blooms. To see more on this information go to Crosscreek Environmental, Inc website at www.crosscreekenvironmental.com.
