Another Fitness Class Added

We started a new Water Aerobics class on February 12th and it was a success. We are holding the class every Wednesday going forward.

Fitness Equipment Update

We have a contract with Results Fitness to periodically inspect and maintain our fitness equipment. In March our ARC machine was repaired and had its rust removed. We also replaced several handles and straps. Thanks to Kirby Keim for working to make our fitness area the best it can be!

New Liftmaster Gate Update

We are thrilled that the new LiftMaster Gate System implementation is nearly complete! This includes vehicle gate access with new stickers, codes or fobs, and the Community by MyQ app that allows you to control the vehicle gates as well as pool gates and Clubhouse doors (also controlled by fobs). Clubhouse Renovation Plans 

The Clubhouse Committee has received proposals for the repair and renovation of the Clubhouse Kitchen and Main Room. The Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th at 5:00 pm, is to review the proposals and possibly vote to approve a contract. All are welcome to come to this important meeting!

Volunteers Welcome

Interested in Making a Difference in the Community?  We welcome volunteers to get involved in creating the best community for all. Time commitments could be a few hours for a one-time project to a significant commitment to run for the Board, and everything in between. Contact any board member or Committee Chair shown at Summary of Board and Committtees.

Community Notices​

The Board approved a new Recreation & Fitness Committee and is looking for residents to give input into re-designing the courts to include a 2 permanent and 1 temporary pickleball court, a dedicated basketball area, and dedicated tennis court.  Long-range plans will consider a potential children's play area, covered seating and expanded  fitness facilities inside the Clubhouse. The Committee also coordinates fitness classes and may host future events. Visit the Recreation & Fitness Committee page for more information.

Ladies Book Club

The Laurel Lakes Ladies Book Club meets in the Clubhouse on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm, September through May. If you wish to attend, contact Molly Wilson.

Daytime Bunco is at 1:00 pm on the third Tuesday of the month. Bunco is not held in July, August  and December unless enough people show interest. If you are interested in playing or being a sub, email Sue Hughes at or call 941-266-2029.

Evening Bunco is at 7:00 pm on the first Thursday of the month.  If anyone is interested, please call either Diane Archer at  704-579-0142 or email at  Diane Archer, or contact Marcia Bowery at 941-379-4088.

Tennis Anyone?

Players are looking for anyone who would like to join them in playing Singles or Doubles at the Laurel Lakes Tennis Courts.  If you are interested, please contact Lolita Welkos

Yoga

We offer Wednesday evening yoga  each Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Clubhouse. The 4th Wednesday of each month it will be on the pool deck due to book club using the clubhouse.

Cost for the class is $15.  We must have 5 people so please contact Janet Pannone or RSVP on the Facebook announcement.

Pickleball Courts are used for Open Play at the following times:
​Saturdays from 8 am to 10 am
​Sundays from 8 am to 10 am

Social Committee Events

The Social Committee plans community events, including the monthly First Friday Social Hour, Bingo, the annual Easter Egg Hunt, holiday parties and more. For more information on the Committee and how to get involved, visit the Summary of Board and Committtees page.

Clubhouse Reservations

​The clubhouse can only be reserved by Laurel Lakes homeowners under the governing documents. No common property, including the clubhouse, can be used for business purposes.

​There is a Reservation Agreement Form required to be completed and submitted for the rental of the clubhouse to [email protected].

Community Speed Limit

The posted community speed limit on all roads within Laurel Lakes Community is 15 MPH Speed Limit. 

Signs are installed on each of the calming traffic islands throughout the community and on streets to remind all drivers within the community of the speed limit which needs to be observed on our streets.

 Community Irrigation

Lawns can be watered on Tuesdays and Fridays. If possible, please water only one of those days for  20-30 minutes maximum.

Garbage/Recycling/Trash ​Removal Policy

The Laurel Lakes Community follows the Sarasota County Trash & Recycling Removal Regulations found at this website link: ​https://www.scgov.net/government/public-utilities-water/solid-waste/trash-and-recycling. Collection is done on every Tuesday beginning around  7:00 AM and continues throughout the day.  The HOA asks owners to please put there trash out the night before (no earlier due to rodents) and place all trash receptacles back to their proper storage areas after it is collected within a 12 hour period.
