Once again, we have posted on the Laurel Lakes website as well as sending a letter to every homeowner in our community regarding the responsibility to maintain their property in compliance with the MASTER DECLARATION OF EASEMENTS COVENANTS AND RESTRICTIONS FOR BARTON FARMS, INC. dated June 1, 1996.
The Board would like to direct all homeowners to become familiar with Section 7, USE RESTRICTIONS AND OWNER MAINTENANCE, and Section 8, Enforcement. In addition, please review the COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT OF COVENANTS AND RULES dated April 11, 2007 and LAUREL LAKES OF SARASOTA RULES AND REGULATIONS, revised on September 12, 2007. All of this information should have been provided when you purchased the property! It is also posted on the Laurel Lakes website under residents only section.

The main purpose of the Home Owners Association Covenants Committee is to enforce the approved rules which, when followed consistently by all residents, preserve the aesthetic beauty and integrity of the neighborhood and the property values of the homes within it. To that end, we want to make you aware of the complaints and concerns we have received on numerous occasions about homeowners who have ignored their responsibilities.
Complaints have included:
The committee will be conducting regular community reviews, commencing the second week of March, which may result in homeowners receiving a notice of violation. - bushes, shrubs and hedges not being trimmed
- failure to pull weeds from flower beds and driveways
- mulch needed for flower beds
- dead plants and trees that need to be removed
- items normally stored indoors being stored in public view, such as trash cans, ladders, garden maintenance equipment, basketball hoop, etc.
- driveways, roofs and gutters that need to be power washed.
